Preorders for the 4k UHD Tony BD went up today on the A24 store. No news on a Canadian release, but we’ll be watching! Fingers crossed for more news about the Operation Avalanche BD as well.
The official title for Journalism 101 has been revealed, and it’s The Vice Guide! Links and tags have been updated across the site, but if you notice errors feel free to leave a comment here or on any press links.
As of this week, filming on Journalism 101 has finished! As this enters post-production, we will likely hear more about this movie towards the end of the year and beginning of 2027.
If you aren’t following our Twitter account, you might have missed that Neon put up a boxset for Seasons 1, 2 and the movie, that is still up for preorder as of this post.
As far as site updates go, Tony press interviews are almost all added; there are a few video interviews and social media clips remaining, and that’s a wrap! All press is backdated to the day of publication.
Stavros Halkias’ new Netflix special is out today, directed by Matt! This feature is a bit of an oddball for the archive, so while it won’t be catalogued as extensively as other titles, we’ll be sure to include what we can. We’ve reorganized the Projects menu a bit to block out the NTB projects and added a page for Uncle Stav under Other Projects.
The Media section has been re-done as well. Now you can choose a category of interview and start there, or use the Archive Filters to really hone in on what you’re looking for. Now that the finicky behind the scenes stuff has been completed, we’ll truly be backfilling interviews again!
Tony hit wide(r) release on August 21.
You might notice some areas of the site changing around over the next week or so – due to the types of stuff being archived, we needed to tweak the system a bit to make it easier to find stuff in the future. It’s put us a bit behind in adding some of the recent press to the site, so bear with us. Thanks!
We’ve updated the Tony section with a lot of the recent articles and videos from the past week, including the final two Q&As Matt did this past weekend in Toronto. As the Tony press cycle winds down, you may see some consolidation of articles and videos from the same sources. This has definitely been a crash course in media promotion!
During that final Scotiabank Theatre Q&A we got confirmation of an Operation Avalanche 4K re-release, “in about two months”, so likely some time in October. Start letting your favourite indie video stores know!
At the same time, filming on Journalism 101 has begun in Toronto (we’ll be sticking with that title til we hear otherwise!), and we’re adding news as it comes out. If you do venture out to catch a glimpse of the Zapruder team, please be respectful!
Content is still being added everywhere, but we wanted to have the Tony catalogue available ASAP as news comes out for its release. Stuff is being added every day, including the podcast with Matt and Stavvy A24 dropped this morning!
